A warm welcome

The 4th conference of the German Society of Research in Positive Psychology [Deutsche Gesellschaft für Positiv-Psychologische Forschung, DGPPF] will take place in Vienna in 2020 - the first time outside Germany.

The scientific program - from Thursday, April 16 2020, 01:00 p.m., to Saturday, April 18 2020, 04:00 p.m. - offers an excellent opportunity to get and exchange information about the state of current German language and international research from the wide field of Positive Psychology. In addition, training workshops for practitioners and additionally, workshops and meetings for young scientists will offer an interesting supplementary program in advance, on Wednesday, April 15 2020. Thus, the conference is ideally suited for meeting experts from the broad field of positive psychology, for establishing cooperation, to network with researchers from different countries, or to get knowledge about new practical approaches and skills in positive psychological interventions.

Vienna - the capital-city of Austria - is world-famous for a number of extraordinary features. Situated on the Danube River, which connects many European countries, it is not only the former residence and capital of an old European Great Power - the Habsburg Empire Austria-Hungary. It still has the charm and flair of one of the great European capitals with its countless boulevards, sights and art treasures in its many museums. It is also well known for its many opera- and operetta houses, above all the State Opera, and its many theaters (Burgtheater, Volkstheater, and Theater in der Josefstadt etc.) and finally yet importantly for its culinary offerings, which are widely appreciated. Viennese cuisine is truly European. The many cafés, restaurants, pubs and bars invite to relax and to read newspapers or to enjoy just only Viennese coffee and pastries.

With its universities, Vienna represents not only a past, but also a present academic power. It is therefore a pleasure for us to host the 4th Conference of the German Society of Research in Positive Psychology at the University of Vienna.

We cordially invite you to join us to this conference and we look forward to welcoming you at the fourth Conference of the DGPPF shortly after Easter 2020! Let’s make it an unforgettable event!

Michaela Brohm-Badry, Corinna Peifer, Christine Syrek, Julian Greve, Steering Committee of DGPPF

Conference languages: German and English
Although the official conference language is German, we also offer, as in 2018, an English track too. So please feel free to submit English symposia, lectures, workshops and posters. In case of a large number of international registrations, we will also try to organize keynotes in English language.
